20 Questions

One player knows a secret. Ask yes/no questions and guess it within 20.

How many players?

Names (optional) Add names so turns are called by name

First names or nicknames, saved only on this phone. Pick a kid’s age so the youngest goes first and quiz cards fit each kid; tick “Adult” for grown-ups: they get harder words to act out and no kids-only topics.

How old is the youngest player?

Cards follow the youngest player.

20 Questions game for kids: how to play with 2, 3 or 4+

Pass the phone to the thinker, who secretly sees a thing like a cat or a beach. Everyone else asks yes/no questions: “Does it live in water?” The thinker answers only yes or no. Tap “+1 question” after each one; hints open from question 10.

2 players

One thinks, the other asks, then swap so both get to ask. Start wide (“Is it alive?”) and narrow it down. Two rounds take about five minutes.

3 players

The two askers take turns, youngest first. Talk it over between questions: what do we know so far? Each player gets to be the thinker once.

4 or more players

With 4 or more, askers go round the circle, one question each, so everyone gets a say. Four rounds take about ten minutes; the phone shows the category, so the first question is never a blind guess.

Questions parents ask

What age is it for?

Ages 6 and up, grown-ups included. Secrets follow the youngest player's age: everyday animals, food and things for 6–8, harder ones for older kids. The phone shows the category, like “It's an animal”, to help little ones start.

What if we get stuck?

After 10 questions you can open hints, one at a time, from vague to clear. You can also tap “We give up” to see the secret and move on. At 20 questions the phone shows the answer by itself.

How long does a game take?

About two to three minutes per round. A game has one round per player, up to four. In Family Game Night it fits the middle of the evening or the big final game.

What do we need, and is it free?

Just one phone. It's free, with no sign-up and no ads, and first names stay only on that phone. Secrets are never read aloud.
